Arrival and Departure
Arrangements:
Camp will open at 3:00 p.m. Sunday
afternoon. Camp will close at 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning. If you wish to room
with someone specific, please let us know, when you send in your registration forms.
However, younger campers will not be allowed to move up to room with older campers.
This rule applies to both junior and senior campers.
Rules for acceptance and participation
in this program are the same for everyone without regard to race, color, national origin,
age, sex, disability, political belief, or religion.
Activities:
The daily camp schedule includes
devotions, Bible classes, singing, sports, crafts, hiking, water sports, games, and
regular meals. There is also entertainment each evening, including a terrific
variety show staged by the campers themselves.
Dress and Conduct:
Camp is conducted in a spiritual
atmosphere, which includes wearing modest apparel. Campers will be required to wear
clothing which meets certain standards.
Following the standards of
dress set forth in the Florida College Student Handbook, all skirts or pants "must be
touching the kneecap." Play-skirts, jeans, or knee-length cut-offs are
recommended for girls; shorts, halters, or backless dresses will not be worn at camp.
Boys must wear jeans or knee-length cut-offs and must wear shirts at all times,
which do not hang open on the sides. This clothing will be acceptable at all camp
functions.
Each camper is expected to follow camp
rules. Tobacco, alcoholic beverages, and
unprescribed drugs will not be allowed.
Stealing, profanity, possession of weapons of any kind, or abuse of camp facilities
will not be tolerated. Additionally, firecrackers and shaving cream and water
balloon fights will be prohibited. Offenders will be subject to being sent home.
Counselors have been carefully chosen,
and their instructions are to be respected at all times.
Health and Safety:
Trained First Aid personnel will be
available. Accident insurance (included in camp fee) will be provided for
all campers who do not have other insurance. We need insurance
information for all campers, because that will be used before our insurance.
In addition to the registration form and the medical release form, Camp Hensel
requires the parents and guardians of every camper sign a "Release and Indemnity
Agreement." One will be sent when we receive your registration form or you may
click on the link at this site and print one out. No one can attend camp
without this form on file.
