    Junior Camp Afternoon Activity Selection

    All Junior Campers need to register for the afternoon activities of their choice. The activities will be assigned based on "first come first served". Please select a different activity in each box. Activities will vary based on age. Only age appropriate choices will show in the menus below. To help you make a decision, below are some links explaining some of the craft choices.

  • Activity Descriptions Activity Center Games - play all the Activity Center games; Ping Pong, Foosball, Air hockey, Shuffleboard
    Archery – campers will use a bow and arrow to shoot at targets from various distances
    Archery Tag – campers will use a bow and foam tipped arrow to play a head-to-head game of tag
    Baking with the FC Friends – campers 12 and up will spend time chatting with the FC friends and will make a sweet treat
    Basketball – campers will compete in this popular shooting competition
    Hiking – Campers hike a scenic trail through the camp ground and down to the edge of the river.
    HNSL Writing – campers will create skits and act them out on stage
    Hop Scotch / 4 Square – campers will rotate between these two classic playground games
    Jump Rope - single or group, old fashion jump rope. Or compete with your friends in a jump rope competition
    Newspaper – campers will help write the daily newspaper with input from other campers
    Paintball Target Shooting - campers use paintball guns to shoot at targets and are scored based on their accuracy
    .22 Rifle Target Shooting – campers 11 and up will use a .22 to shoot at targets at various distances
    Song Leading (boys only) - guy campers can learn and practice the techniques of congregational song leading
    Splaterball Wars - campers will see how fast they can shoot their opponent with a single shot
    Yard Games - play all the outdoor games; GaGa Ball, Cornhole, Spike Ball, 9 Square in the Air


    Craft Descriptions Board & Brush - campers will paint using stencils on canvas to create their own artwork
    Wind Chimes / Wall hangings - campers will create Wind Chimes and Wall hangings
    Decorate Tote Bags - Decorate tote bags using sequins and other decorating items
    Scrap Fabric Wreaths - campers will make wreaths with scrap fabric
    Macrame Keychains - campers will hand make woven keychains
    Friendship Bracelets - make friendship bracelets using different colored threads

    Senior Camp Activity Selection

    All Senior Campers need to register for the activities of their choice. The activities will be assigned based on "first come first served". Please select a different activity in each box. Once an activity is full for that day it will be removed from the list. To help you make a decision, below are some descriptions of the activities.

    NOTE: Chosen activities CANNOT be changed at camp. To increase camper enjoyment and involvement, please consult your camper before choosing activities on their behalf.

  • Activity Descriptions Archery – campers will use a bow and arrow to shoot at targets from various distances.
    Archery Tag – campers will use a bow and foam tipped arrow to play a head-to-head game of tag
    Axe Throwing - channel your innermost lumberjack and throw an axe at a target.
    Coffee and Conversation - Sit back with some good ol' coffee and engage in some stimulating connversation.
    Cooking Hour - straight from the cooking channel. Campers will learn a new recipe and then get to sample their efforts!
    Game Time/Book Club - enjoy some downtime with some new games and get reintroduced to some old ones, or just sit around and read a book that you brought.
    Arts & Crafts - I don't think we have to explain this one. Just be creative.
    Hiking – Campers hike a scenic trail through the camp ground and down to the edge of the river.
    Jam Sessions - Bring your own instrument and let's jam for an hour.
    Pickle Ball and Spikeball - Pickle Ball is all the rage! Learn how to play. We also have Spikeball.
    Pool Time – cool off in the swimming pool.
    Service Club - serving the camp and new campgrounds through service projects with your fellow campers and counselors.
    Sports – Campers will play Soccer on Monday and Tuesday, Ultimate Frisbee on Wednesday and Friday.
    Target shooting – Campers learn how to safely handle firearms and they will use a .22 to shoot at targets at various distances.
    Woodburning - create a design of your choosing by burning it on to a wood plank.
    Yoga - bend, stretch, and zen.
    Time with the Friends – Enjoy your favorite activities led by the FC Camp Friends. This is a great opportunity to pick their brain about Florida College.

    Senior Camp Photo Release

    This year Florida College will have their staff photographer at Senior Camp the first few days for camp, July 17th-19th. We need to obtain a release for any photos that might be taken of your camper. Please agree/disagree to the release described below.

    I, hereby grant permission to Florida College Camp representatives, to take and use: photographs and/or digital images of my child or myself for use in news releases and/or Florida College promotional materials. These materials might include printed or electronic publications, websites, or other electronic communications. I further agree that my child’s or my own name and identity may be revealed in descriptive text or commentary in connection with the image(s). I authorize the use of these images without compensation to me. All negatives, prints, digital reproductions shall be the property of Florida College representatives.






    Rules and Terms of Service ***UPDATED***

    Rules for acceptance and participation in this program are the same for everyone without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, political belief, or religion.

    Cost and Reservations
    The cost is $390 for each senior camper and $350 for each junior camper if paid in full by June 1st. $440 and $400 if paid in full after June 1st. This will cover room, board, and all activities. This also includes a souvenir T-shirt and a picture. At a minimum, a deposit of $200 is required to make a reservation. Make checks payable to: North Texas Chapter of the Hutchinson Bell.

    Any camper who registers 4 weeks before camp may not receive a camp shirt. A full refund is available up to 4 weeks before camp starts minus a $25 processing fee. Between 4 weeks and 3 weeks before camp, a 50% refund will be issued. No refunds will be available for campers 3 weeks before the start of camp.

    Arrival and Departure Arrangements
    Drop-off will begin on Sunday at 4:00 PM for Senior Camp and 3:00 PM for Junior Camp. To be fair to everyone, there will not be any early drop-offs before. Pickup is on Saturday morning after 9:30 AM for Senior Camp and Friday morning after 12:30 PM for Junior Camp. Campers have responsibilities until this time. Due to these responsibilities as well as other schedule interruptions, if campers are checked out beforehand, there will be a clean-up fee of $15.00 per camper, collected at the time of pick-up. Just so you know, NO checkouts can be performed on the last night of camp, during the evening activities. If pick-up is necessary, it must be before or after these activities. Camper pickup ends at 11:00 AM for Senior Camp and 2:00 PM for Junior Camp on the last day of camp. Due to excessive abuse of checkout times, if campers are picked up afterward, there will be an additional charge of $25.00 per camper, per hour, collected at the time of pick-up.

    Damages
    Be aware that you will be financially responsible for any physical damages that witnesses state your camper caused. Please communicate to your camper that the buildings, furnishings, and equipment at Arrowhead Camp and Retreat Center are being rented by the North Texas Chapter of the Hutchinson Bell and therefore must be treated with the utmost care and respect. Roughhousing, vandalism, etc will not be tolerated and can lead to the camper being sent home.

    Rooming Requests
    We attempt to put all campers of the same age together. If you wish to room with someone specific, please reply to your confirmation email with your request. By policy, younger campers will not be allowed to move up to room with older campers.

    Dress and Conduct
    Camp is conducted in a spiritual atmosphere, which includes wearing modest apparel. While we recognize that this means different things to different people we have adopted the guidelines which are followed at Florida College.

    Clothing should not have logos or messages that are indecent, “Pajama pants” are not appropriate except in the cabins, All pants, shorts or skirts must come to the knee. All shirts must have sleeves. All clothing should include the proper undergarments and should not be tight-fitting or revealing.
    Prohibited clothing includes:
       ° Halters, tank tops, or blouses showing the midriff.
       ° Backless or low-cut dresses.
       ° Low hip-hugger pants.
       ° Yoga pants.
       ° Skirts or pants that do not touch the kneecap.
       ° Skirts slit above the kneecap.

    Each camper is expected to follow camp rules. Tobacco, alcoholic beverages, and unprescribed drugs will not be allowed. Stealing, profanity, possession of weapons of any kind, or abuse of camp facilities will not be tolerated. Additionally, firecrackers, shaving cream, and water balloon fights are prohibited. Disrespectfulness to counselors and failure to follow their instructions will not be tolerated. Offenders of any of the camp rules are subject to being sent home at the discretion of the camp director, with no refund. A complete list of the rules can be found here.

    Cell Phones
    Campers are prohibited from bringing any electronics to camp, this includes cell phones. We strongly encourage all campers' cell phones to remain at home during camp. Any phones that are brought to camp will be collected and returned at check-out. At check-in, all parents will have an opportunity to obtain the phone numbers of directors as well as counselors. If campers are found to have a cell phone, the directors will find some pots, pans, and toilets for them to scrub. Not kidding!!

    Health and Safety
    Trained first aid personnel will be available. Accident insurance (included in the camp fee) will be provided for all campers who do not have other insurance and as secondary insurance for those who do. Insurance information is suggested to be on file for all campers. Florida College Texas Camp requires a Medical Release Form on file and Arrowhead Camp requires the parents and guardians of every camper to sign a Release and Indemnity Agreement. No one can attend camp without this form on file.

    Activities
    The daily camp schedule includes devotions, Bible classes, singing, sports, crafts, hiking, water sports, games, and regular meals. There is also entertainment each evening, a talent show the campers can enter.
